Vince Lancini and Fabio Margutti, two aces of Italo-dance
Singer Vince Lancini and keyboardist and songwriter Fabio Margutti of Scotch are recognized as pioneers of Italo-dance music.
In their early days, the two musicians drew inspiration from 1980s Italo-disco, a genre of European electronic music that originated neither in the United States nor the United Kingdom.
The sound of their music was inspired by disco, Hi-NRG, and British new wave, with an electro-pop bent. Throughout their career, they offered their audience songs that were romantic, highly melodic, vibrant, and meticulously arranged.
True to their Italian roots, Vince Lancini and Fabio Margutti primarily sang in English to reach an international audience.
